Last night I tried to do some of that salt-dough (a couple of years later), and I made some baking for the family. So, here's how it starts; Some oil, salt, water and flour needed:
..itselläni ei ollut kuin tuota oliiviöljyä, mutta tulipahan hyväntuoksuista taikinaa. Ohje siis tässä:
Pieni Taikataikina:
Reilu desi vehnäjauhoja
1/4 dl suolaa
n. 1/2 dl kylmää vettä
vajaa ruokalusikallinen öljyä
(n.1 rkl maizenajauhoa)
-Sekoita kuivat aineet, lisää vesi ja öljy.
-Tarvittaessa lisää jauhoja niin että saat pehmeän, hieman tahmean taikinan joka ei tartu käsiin eikä kulhoon. Tarttumisen estämiseksi käsiin voi hieroa vähän (maizena)maissi- tai perunajauhoa jolla taikina "viimeistellään".
-Kääräise valmis taikina folioon, anna tekeytyä huoneenlämmössä n. tunnin ajan.
-Nukkekotikokoisia juttuja kannattaa paistaa 125'C n. tunnin ajan, isommat työt vaativat hieman pidemmän (1 1/2 -2h) paistoajan.
..all I had was olive-oil, but at least the dough smells good. So, here's the recipe:
A Small portion of salt-dough:
About half a cup of wheet-flour
4 tbs salt
1/4 cup of cold water
1 tsp of oil
(1 tsb of corn-starch)
-Mix all the dry ingredients together, add water and oil
-If needed, add some flour so you'll have a smooth, soft, and non-sticky dough. The prevent the dough of sticking, rub some corn- or potatoe-starch on your hands. It also smooths the dough up.
-Wrap some tin-foil around the dough and let it settle in a room-temperature in about and hour.
-Model and shape the dough as you like.
-Solidify your bakings in the oven in 257'F. The miniatures bake in about an hour, but any bigger works need about 1 1/2 - 2 hours to bake solid.
Tuollaisia näistä sitten tuli. Kaipaavat vähän väriä pintaan, maalaamiseen ajattelin käyttää tavallisia akryylivärejä. Törmäämme varmasti näihin pulliin vielä myöhemmin.
So that is how they turned up. All they need now is some color, I thought I'd paint them up with some acrylic-paints. More about these buns a later on.
