Leffahaaste

Delusion heitti siis minua tällaisella haasteella:Delusion gave me this challenge:

Päätin sitten vastata tähän, onhan Lupescun talossa jos jonkinmoista viittausta eri elokuviin. Tunnustaudun myös itse leffahörhöksi, vaikkakin kauhupainotteiseksi menee..
Siis, kysymykset kuluivat:
Okay, I desided to do this, after all, I do have a few movie-tributes in the Lupescu house. I also have a confession to make; I'm a movie freak, mostly on the horror department..
So, the questions were:

1. Tunnelmaltaan vahvimmat näkemäsi elokuvat?
Movies with the strongest mood/athmosphere?
Mitähän tähän keksisi.. ensimmäisenä tuli mieleeni iki-ihana, ja ah, niin romanttinen Return of the Living Dead 3. Kaiken epätoivon keskelläkin poika ei jätä tyttöä, ja pysyy loppuun saakka hänen rinnallaan. Elokuvan rakastavaisten riipaisevan herkkä loppukohtaus purskauttaa aina kyyneleet silmistä, ei voi mitään.
Toiseksi Painajainen Elm Streetillä, part3. Tämä oli ensimmäinen koskaan näkemäni Elm Sreet elokuva (taisin olla ehkä 1o-vuotias), ja vaikka olen seurannut kauhuelokuvia koko pienen ikäni, tämä oli ihan oikeasti pelottava. Hereillä olon ja unen ero elokuvassa oli hiuksenhieno, lisäksi oli hiuksianostattavaa nähdä todellisuuden taipuvan luonnottomasti freddy-maailmassa, jossa kiviseinätkin muuttuivat puuromaisen pehmeiksi. Freddy oli ja on minulle edelleenkin vakuuttavin elokuvamörkö.
Kolmantena..ottiatuota.. Battle Royale. Kertomus japanilaiskoululaisista jotka joutuvat kouluviranomaisten valitsemana luokkana autiolle saarelle jossa heidän selvitäkseen tappaa toisensa. Elokuva on aika karu selviytymistarina, hahmot persoonallisia ja saari on upea. Tämä on yksi niitä leffoja jotka olen nähnyt yli seitsemen kertaa.

Let me see.. first I could think of was oh, so lovable and sooo romantic Return of the Living Dead 3. Even though all hope seems gone the boy won't leave the girl, and stays by her side till the very end. That final scene always makes me cry, I can't help it.
Second: Nightmare on Elm Street, part 3. This was the first of the Elm Street -movies I ever saw (think I was 10), and even though I've been watching horror movies since I was a child, this was actually really scary. That fine line between being awake and falling asleep was very thin, and it was truly creepy to see how reality bended unnaturally in a freddy-world, where even the stonewalls turned into oatmeal. For me Freddy was, and still is the all time most impressive movie bogeyman.
And third..em.. Battle Royale. A story about a japanese school-class, which, chosen by the educational authorities, ends up in an island with a goal of killing one another. This movie is kinda harsh survival story, characters are colorful and the island is just gorgeous. This is one of those movies I seen over seven times.

2. Mikä elokuvahahmo haluaisit olla, edes hetken?
Movie character you'd like to be, even for a while?
Voi apua, emmätiiä.. Ykkösenä voisi olla Queen Mab elokuvasta Merlin. Hän oli sellainen äksy haltiakuningatar joka teki hienoja taikoja :)
Ja jos nyt hattarapäälinjalle lähdetään niin toiseksi Alabama Whitman elokuvasta True Romance.. eipä muuten kun vastanäyttelijänä on Christian Slater.. köhköh.. :P
Viimeiseksi voisin mainita vaikka Dawn O'Keefen elokuvasta Teeth. Tyttö, joka sai syntyessään hyvät hampaat myös sinne toiseen päähän. Mikä ultimaattinen suojavarustus pahoja setiä vastaan ;D

Oh my gods, I don't know.. Maybe first one would be Queen Mab from the movie Merlin. She was this cranky fairyqueen who could do great magic.
And since we wear our rosered glasses here, the second choise could be Alabama Whitman from the True Romance.. only because her boyfriend is played by Christian Slater.. krm.. :P
My last choise might be Dawn O'Keefe from the movie Teeth. She's a girl who was born with a good set of sharp theeth on the other end of her body as well. What an ultimate protection against the big bad men, huh? ;D

3. Minkä elokuvan olisit jättänyt katsomatta, jos olisit tiennyt paremmin?
Movie you would have skipped if you had known better?
Olen aika avoin kaikenlaisille elokuville, ja jotkin leffat vaan vaativat sen pari katselukertaa että niistä saa kaiken irti. Jos taas elokuva ensimmäisen katselun puolivälissä alkaa maistua sahajauhoille niin tuskin katson sitä toiste.. Moisia leffoja on silti suhteellisen vähän, ehkä uteliaasta mielenlaadusta on hyötyä? Mutta nämä eivät minulle kolisseet:
1-Wolf Creek -"Tositapahtumiin" perustuva elokuva Australian syrjäkylille matkustavista nuorista jotka joutuvat ihmispedon kynsiin automatkallaan luonnonpuistoon. Elokuva oli tylsä ja ennalta-arvattava, hahmot lähinnä ärsyttäviä, puhumattakaan juonesta, joka on kaluttu moneen otteeseen mm. elokuvissa Ihmisjahti ja Teksasin Moottorisahamurhaaja.
2-Hills Have Eyes 2. Ykkönenkään ei tehnyt vaikutusta, mutta tuo jatko-osa.. ihan tekemällä tehty, tylsä ja loppuunkaluttu; Kidutusta, verta ja suolenpätkiä. Toimii Peter Jacksonin koomisissa elokuvissa, mutta vakavaa kauhua tuosta ei saa mitenkään. Tai no, jos kaukosäädin häviää eikä tv suostu menemään pois päältä..
3-The Cavern. Eräs ystäväni hehkutti tätä liki parhaana uutena kauhuleffana, jossa joukko luolatutkijoita alkaa kadota ja kuolla "salaperäisesti" ja tajuavat pian etteivät ole yksin luolassaan.. kuulostaa niiiiin turhalle!! Tässä elokuvassa hovimestari ei ollut syyllinen, vaan luolamies (joo, leikitään yllättynyttä). Pelkkä elokuvan muistelu saa haluamaan kaivaa lusikalla omat silmät päästä.

I'm quite open for any new movie experiences, and some movies just need those couple of viewing times to get everything out of it. Although, if the movie hasn't even reached it's halftime and starts to feel like sawdust I would doubtfully watch it again. I haven't see many of such films, so maybe movie-curiosity is a good thing? But here are few films I just couldn't deal with:
1-Wolf Creek- One more movie based on the "true events", where a bunch of kids travel in Australia countryside and end up being tortured by a maniac-man. Movie was boring and predictable, characters were annoying, not to mention the story itself, that's been depleted already by such films as Wrong turn and The Texas chainsaw massacre.2-Hills Have Eyes 2. Even the first one didn't impress me much, but the sequel.. it was like made by compel, boring, and all chewed up; Some torturing, blood and guts. This thing really works on the Peter Jackson's comedies, but there is no way this film could be transfered into serious horror. Or maybe if your remote dissapears all of a sudden and your tv just won't shut down..
3-The Cavern. One of my friends recommended this film for me as "probably the best new horror film she's ever seen". There's a team of cave-researchers that start disappearing and die "mysteriously" and soon they realize they are not alone in the cave.. that sounds like soooo useless!! In this film, the butler didn't do it, it was a caveman all a long (yup, let's all act surprised). Just reminising this movie makes me want to scoop my eyes out with a teaspoon.
