Kärpäsloukku-Flytrap

Salonki kaipasi mielestäni jotain vihreää, joten sinne syntyi tällainen pikku viherkasvi:

Since the salon was in need for something green, I made this little plant there:

Jalustan virkaa toimittaa shakkinappula, ja ruukkuna helmi. Somisteena paperinarua.

The pole is originally a chess piece, and the flower-pot is just a bead. There's some paper-twine as a decoration.

Kasvi tehty sekalaisista muovikasvin osista ja rautalangasta, kukat tehty Cernit-massasta.

This plant is made of miscellaneous parts of some plastic-plants and the blossoms of Cernit polymere-clay.

Antaa mukavaa ilmettä salonkiin. Mörkö ihastelee uutta tulokasta, ainakaan kesällä ei tarvitse huolia kärpäsistä.

Looks good in the salon. Bogeyman is looking at the new arrival, at least there's no worrying about any flys this summer.

Salonkitorstaita-Salon-Thursday

Tällaiset pahvihyllyt syntyivät eilen hukkapaloista nukkikseen. Reunusteena vaaleaa koristenarua.

These cardboard-shelfs out of left-over clippings I made for the dollhouse yesturday. I lined them up with some light decorative yarn.

That is a better place for the jug I found from the Fair, and those whiskey-bottles look better on the shelf, too:

I guess I should make some extra-shelfs to the other rooms as well..

Unohtuneet tyynyt-Forgotten pillows

Huomasin juuri että talosta löytyi vielä tyynypari joka on jäänyt esittelemättä.. Tässä siis salongin samettityynyt:

Just noticed there's still a pair of pillows left unintroduced in the house.. So here are the velvet-cushions of salon:

Tyynyt ommeltu käsin punaisesta velourista, ja täytetty vanulla. Reunustin tyynyt vielä kultalangalla. Tyynyt voi siis bongata salongin sohvalta :)

Cushions I sewed by hand of red velour, and stuffed with cotton-wool. Finaly I borded these with some golden-thread. So, these cushions can be spotted of the salons' sofa :)

Kukkauudistus-Flower re-new

Doloresilta tilaamani kukkaset joutuivat siis pieneen muuttumisleikkiin. Kukat on valmistettu jostain kumimaisesta massasta, ja kestivät hyvin muokkausta. Leikkasin vähän terälehtiä, maalasin akryyleilla, ja keskellä mustaa kimalleliimaa. Vasemmalla alkuperäiset, oikealla modatut:

Those flowers I ordered from Dolores went through a little shape-shifting. Flowers are made of some rubber-like mass, and were easy to re-shape. I cutted the petals a bit, painted them with acrylic-paint and that's some black glitter-glue in the center. The original flowers at left, and tuned ones on the right:

Mihin sitten tarvitsin uusia kukkia? Tein tietenkin uuden kasvin nukkikseen :)

Pallor mortis

Tuunasin Doloresista tilaamani arkun tuossa viikonloppuna, ja tällainen siitä tuli:

I did some tuning at weekend for that coffin I ordered from Dolores, and this is how it turned up:

Punainen lepakkotarra liimattu laattaan huvin vuoksi, aikomuksenani vaihtaa se kunhan keksin jotain parempaa tilalle. Meinasin ensin vain lakata tämän tummemmaksi, mutta minulla oli jo yksi ruskea arkku, ja jotenkin vaan halusin tästä "synkemmän", niin tästä tuli sitten kulutettu valkoinen (sillä valkoinen on kuoleman väri)

That red bat-sticker is there just for fun, I'm about to change it till I'll figure out something better to replace it with. At first I thought if I'd paint the coffin darker with lac, but I allready have one brown coffin, and I wanted this to be somewhat "darker", so it became worn white (since white is the color of death).

Vuorasin arkun punaisella satiinilla jota jäi yli eräästä paitaompeluksesta. Myös reunat on pehmustettu,toisin kuin alkuperäisessä. Kanteen liimasin palan satiinia.

I upholstered the coffin with some red satin left-overs from this shirt-project of mine. Also the sides are padded, unlike in the original. I glued a piece of satin on the lid.

Odottelemani lähetys Dolores -kaupasta saapui tänä aamuna, upeeta! Elikkäs tällaisia tällä kertaa:

The package I waited from Dolores-webstore arrived this morning, wonderful! So, this what I got this time:

Uusi arkku, ainakin, ei välttämättä Evanille, mutta katsotaan mitä tuosta saa aikaan, ainakin vähäsen ajattelin tuunata tuota ;) Hautakivet oli niin uskomattoman suloisia, että oli pakko-ostos. Enemmän nuo on Lundby-kokoa, mutta ei se niin nuukaa ole :D
Saviruukut oli hienoja, ja kuitenkin kevään saapuessa alan tekemään kukkasia nukkikseen. Kuvan valkeat kukat ovat jotain massaa, mutta oletan niiden kestävän hienoista tuuninkia; Minulla on visio.. Tässä vielä lähikuva arkusta:

A new coffin, not neccessary for Evan, though, but I see what I can make out of that, I need to tune it up, atleast a little bit ;) Those gravestones were just so adorably cute I had to buy 'em. They are more of a Lundby-scale items, but who cares :D
Pottery was nice, since I'll probably start a new flower-project during spring. White flowers in the photo are made of some sort of clay, but supposedly they'll tolerate some tuning; I have a vision.. Here's a close up of the coffin:

Söpöä :) Olen ajatellut, pitäisikö Sabinelle ommella jotain uutta hametta, ja tätä voisi jo pitää enteenä; luulisin nimittäin noiden ruusujen sopivan moiseen täydellisesti o__O Riipuksen todennäköisesti käytän johonkin omaan ompelutyöhön ;D

Awness :) I've been thinking, If I should sew a new skirt for Sabine, and if this is not an omen I don't know what is; those roses should fit perfectly for my desingn o__O That pendant probably ends up to some sewing-work for myself ;D

Alrunasta asiaa-Mandrake about

Evan on pahoillaan vietyään alrunanjuuren mummin taikakaapista, ja puhuttelun jälkeen antaa sen takaisin.
-En halunnut aiheuttaa harmia kenellekään, Evan sanoo.
-En minä ole tästä vihainen, mutta jätä vastedes minun omaisuuteni rauhaan, poika!

Evan is sorry that he took the the mandrake-root from grannys magic-cabinet, and after a rebuke from granny he'll return it willingly.
-I didn't ment to cause any trouble to anyone, says Evan.
-I'm not mad at you, but for now on you leave my property alone, boy!

Mummi ottaa juuren takaisin ja poistuu huoneesta Victor kannoillaan. Pöydälle jää vain tyhjä maitovati. Evan näyttää surulliselta ja huokaa raskaasti. Olisiko taika toiminut? Sitä hän ei saa koskaan tietää.

Granny takes the root back and leaves the room with Victor on her tail. There's only a bowlfull of milk left on the table. Evan looks sad and sighs heavily. Would the spell worked? He'll never know.

Toivottavasti Evan ei taas masennu..

Hopefully Evan won't get depressed again..

Napattu-Busted

On kulunut viitisen päivää kun Evan laittoi alrunanjuuren ikkunalleen. Kuten arvata saattaa, alrunanlemu on pikkuhiljaa levinnyt myös muualle taloon. Perheenjäsenten pidellessä neniään kummissaan mummi kyllä tunnistaa hajun. -Jassoo, hän tuumii ja lähtee kapuamaan portaita.
Victor osoittaa syyllisen verikoiran tavoin.

It's been about five days since Evan put the mandrakeroot on his window. And predictabily, the whole house is started to stink. While the rest of family-members keep holding their noses, granny definately recognizes the odor. -I should have known, she mutters and starts to climb up the stairs.
Victor points the guilty one like a bloodhound.

Hajukin voimistuu..
Evan jää kiinni ja törmää mummin tuimaan katseeseen.
-Mummi, aioin kertoa, mutta..
-Etkä aikonut, muuten taika ei toimisi, mummi sanoo.
-Tuskin se toimii nytkään, sinähän ruokit alrunaasi kuolleella verellä.

The stench is also getting stronger..
Evan gets busted and meets granny's grim stare.
-Granny, I was about to tell you, but..
-No you wasn't, otherwise the spell won't work, granny says.
-Besides, I doubt it works now, either, after all, you're feeding the mandrake with some dead blood.

-Mutta.. mitä minun sitten pitäisi tehdä?
-Lopettaa tämä pelleily ja jättää taianteko kokeneemmille, sitä.

-But..what should I do then?
-Quit fooling around and leave the spellcasting for the more experienced, that's what.

Kukkalava-Plantrack

Monia alrunoitani ajatellen valmistui myös tällainen kasvilava. Tämä on siis sellainen kasvihuone-tyylinen ratkaisu, johon puutarhuri laittaa kukkaruukkuja tai taimiruukkuja useamman kerrallaan että niitä olisi helpompi liikutella.

I also made this wooden rack to my mandrakes, since they were so plentifull. So, this is supposed to be a greenhouse-style plant rack, were the gardener can put some flowerpots or seedling-planters in so it's easier to carry 'em around.

Lava liimattu kokoon jäätelö- ja tulitikuista.

I glued the rack together with some ice-cream sticks and matches.

Alrunat näyttävät istuvan hyvin tuolle lavalle. Kolmannen laitoin tuohon pöydälle, kun ei oikein lavalle mahtunut kolmea alrunaa..

Apparently the Lupescu family patio is green throughout the year :)
The mandrakes look good on their new rack. The third one I placed on the table there, since the rack wasn't big enough for all of them..

Mandragora officinarum

Maanantaistarttina voisin siis esitellä viimeisimmän askarteluni; Alrunat. Joo, lumi on vielä maassa ja minä vaan värkkäilen kukkia nukkikseen ;D

It's probably better to start this Monday with my latest crafting-work; The madrake-plants. Sure, here's snow covering the ground and I'm just making plants to my dollhouse ;D

Alrunan juuriosan valmistin Cernit-massasta, lehdet leikkasin tekokasvin lehdistä. Kukkamulta on, no.. kukkamultaa.

I made the roots of Cernit polymere-clay, leafs are cuttings from some bigger fake-plant leafs.
The soil in the pot is, well.. soil.

At first, I tought I'd only make the roots, but since I started, I accidentaly made the plants, too..

Jopas jotakin, Evan tekeekin lemmentaikoja o__O
Mikäpäs mokomaan olisikaan parempi ajankohta kuin Ystävänpäivä (paitsi ehkä juhannus)? Todennäköisesti Evan on löytänyt jotain käyttökelpoista pinosta mystisiä pergamentteja, joita hänelle kotiutui..
"Tosirakkauden houkuttelemiseksi: Täydenkuunyönä poimittu, mahdollisimman ihmisennäköinen alrunanjuuri asetetaan pimeää kuuta vasten maidolla täytettyyn astiaan ikkunalaudalle, ja sitä ruokitaan säännöllisesti viikon ajan loitsijan omalla verellä. Well, what would be more fortunate time for them than a Valentine's day (okay, Midsummer, maybe)? Most likely Evan has found something usefull of that pile of mystical pergaments he recieved earlier..
"To lure a true love: Take the mandrake-root that's been harvested under a full moon, and is most human-shaped of all. Place the root into a bowl on the window-sill and nurse it regulary with the blood of your own. You start the spell by pricking the needle into a heart of the root. After seven days you bury the root in the ground and the true-love should arrive to you soon."

Kuvan kynttilä on kakunkoriste, kynttilänjalka joku metallihelmi, valokuvakehys ja vati HobbyPointista, kannu lapsuuteni leluja, ja alrunanjuuren tein Cernit-massasta.

The candle is a cake-ornament, candle-holder is some metal-bead, photoframe and a bowl from HobbyPoint, a jug from my childhood and the mandrake-root I made of Cernit polymere-clay.

Evanin salaperäiset puuhastelut senkuin jatkuvat. Mummilta anastettu esine näyttää jonkinsorttiselta juurelta, eikö? Evan asettaa juuren varovasti kulhoon..

So the mysterious acts of Evan continue. That thing he took from Granny looks a like a some sort of root, doesn't it? Carefully Evan places it into a bowl..

Perheen kokoontuessa alakertaan aamukahville, Evan etsii kuumeisesti jotakin, mutta kenen kaapista?

While the rest of the family gathered downstairs to have some breakfast and coffee, Evan started to look for something, but who's cabinet is he looking it for?

Evan livahti huoneeseen salaa ja penkoo nyt Mummin taikakaappia tarkoituksenaan ilmeisesti löytää jotakin.. johonkin tarkoitukseen.

Evan sneaked into Granny's room without a permit and is now going through her magic-cabinet like in tend to find something.. for some purpose.

Vihdoinkin. Alakaapista löytyi tarvitava. Evan poistuu ja hakee vielä vadin patiolta.. onpa hän salaperäinen..

Finally he finds what he was looking for and leaves the room. In his way back he stops at the patio to get a bowl.. he's acting quite mysteriously..

Ehkä syykin selviää?

Maybe we'll find out later what he's up to?

Kärmes-Sssnake

Tällaista uutta kivaa syntyi Mummille (mistähän tuonkin idean sain). Purnukan ostin Nukke- ja Nallemarkkinoilta, pieni käärme sen sisällä Cernit-massaa.

Something I made for Granny (where ever I had this idea from). The glass jar I bought from the Fair, and the little serpent inside of it is made of Cernit polymere-clay.

Sorruin siis jälleen paperiaskartelemaan viikonloppuna (hyi minua), ja tein pari uutta kirjaa vanhaan lastenhuoneeseen:

Joopa, siis tänään on J.L.Runebergin, suomen kansallisrunoilijan päivä, jos ihmetellään miksi liputetaan ;) Olisi mukava postata tänään jotain kuldurellia, vaikka oma runosuoni onkin päässyt kalkkeutumaan. Joudun siis jälleen hyödyntämään perheenjäseniä postauksessani..

Right, today was the memorial day of J.LRuneberg, national poet of Finland. It would be nice to post something sophisticated here today, but since I'm not that much of a poet myself I'll just use some family members to collect me some points..

Kyllä. Vaikka perheessä luetaan ja taiteillaan paljonkin, runo-osasto lienee liki kokonaan nuoren herran hallussa, ellei Pertin satunnaisia lemmenlurituksia vaimolle oteta lukuun.
Huoneeseensa erakoitunut Evan kuluttaa usein aikaansa lukemalla klassikkoteoksia ja kynäilee satunnaisesti itsekin. Pikaisessa hyllynratsauksessa löytyi seuraavanlaisia tuotoksia:

Yes, Even there's many people reading and drawing in the family, the poetry-section is completely in the hands of young master Evan. He spends a lot of time alone by reading classics and occasionally writes something down himself. At least, this is what I found after going through he's bookcase:

Nämä ovat siis tulosteita. Vaikkei Evan olekaan taikuri tai noita, alkemia ja salatieteeet tuntuvat poikaa hieman kiinnostavan. Ei kai elävillä kuolleilla ole koskaan helppoa; Toisaalta hän on kiitollinen ollessaan yhä elossa vaikka on menettänytkin niin paljon, toisaalta hän taas pitää itseään luonnottomana. Ehkä Evan etsii vaivihkaa tietään takaisin elävien pariin?

These are prints. Even Evan is not a Magician or a witch, alchemy and mystisism seem to interest him a little. I guess the living dead has no easy living; On the other hand he's glad on being still alive even he's lost so much in life, and otherwise; he thinks he's somehow unnatural. Maybe, in a way, Evan is trying to find a way to become alive again?

Minne matka, Pikku Punahilkka? -Where are you headed, Little Red Ridinghood?

Kuten arvata saattaa, ompeluhuoneuudistus poiki vähän extraa, kun se kuitenkin on vanha lastenhuone alkujaan. Lastenhuoneeseen löytyi siis pari kivaa lastentaulua:

As figures, the sewing-room re-new caused some side-dishes as well. After all, it is an old nursery room. So I found a couple of fun pictures for children:

Vasemmanpuoleinen kuva on Grimmin Veljesten sadusta "Pieni Punahilkka". Siinä Iso susi kohtaa isoäidille ruokaa kuljettavan Punahilkan metsässä. Oikeanpuoleisessa kuvassa Krampus, Joulupukin synkempi aisapari sulloo tuhmia lapsia konttiinsa. Vanhan folkloren mukaan Krampus kulki Pukin kanssa talosta taloon, antoi tuhmille lapsille vitsaa, sieppasi mukaansa, ja laittoin pataansa kiehumaan . Kuva on siis alunperin saksalainen joulukortti. Nykyään tuon risujen kantamisen hoitaa Joulupukki yksikseen, Krampus-ressu lienee joutunut ylityöllistettynä sairaseläkkeelle ;)

The picture at the left is originally from the Brothers Grimm -Fairytale "Little Red Ridinghood". There a big wolf meets Ridinghood in the woods as she carryes food to grandma. On the picture on a right there's Krampus, the darker companion of the Father Christmas, cramming naughty children in he's knapsack. According to the old folklore Krampus arrived in the house with Santa Claus, spanked the naughty children while Santa Claus rewarded the good kids, captured them, and boiled them up in hes cauldron. That picture is originally a germanese christmas-card. Nowadays, I think, poor Krampus has gone to an early retirement because of too much job ;)

Näille olisi tarkoitus vielä tehdä kehyksetkin kunhan sopivaa materiaalia osuu kohdalle :)

Ompeluhuoneuudistus-Sewing-room re-new

Lupescun perheen vanha lastenhuone sai enemmän ompeluhuonemaista ilmettä käytyäni siihen kunnolla käsiksi. Nukke- ja Nallemarkkinoilta löytämäni pieni penkki/pöytä pääsi aputasoksi, laitoin nuo kankaat sen päälle:

So the old nursery-room in the Lupescu house finally did get some sewing-room looks on itself. I placed the little bench/stand I found from the Doll- and Teddybear-fair on the corner there, and placed the fabrics on it:

Viritin langat ompelukoneeseen ja liimasin takaseinälle asustekuvia ja malleja. Ompelukone Heidi Ottin mallistosta, Singer-ompelukoneen merkki todellisuudessa mainoskuva.. Askartelemani ompelulehdet pääsivät myös kuvaan, tottakai:

I put sewing strings to the sewing-machine and glued some sewing- and clothing pictures on the backwall. Sewing-machine is originally from the Heidi Ott collection, the Singer-sign I glued on it myself..
And the sewing-magazines I made are also shown in the picture:

Sakset ja kynttilä jalkoineen HobbyPointista. Istuimelle on jäänyt vanha Vogue. Siitä onkin hyvä lueskella ompeluinspistä :)

I'm actually quite pleased with this job. I only should find some mannequin to the sewing-room, so not this either is a complete posting yet :)
