Kopiointi on rumaa-Copycat's a foul

..ja Siperia opettaa; Löysin kerran jotkut englanninkieliset nukkis-sivut joilta löytyi DIY-ohje korituolien rakentamiseen. Ajattelin, että patiolle olisi mukava saada kaksi sellaista, kun pelkkä pöytä näyttää vähän orvolta, ja ajattelin kokeilla. Tuoleista piti tulla valkoiset, mutta minulla ei juuri sillä hetkellä ollut sen väristä narua, joten tein koekappaleen:

..and Siberia teaches one a lesson; I found some dollhouse-pages in english, and there were some DIY-instructions on how to make rattan-like chairs. I thought it would be nice to have two of those at the patio, since the table alone seems a bit.. well, alone. So I gave it a shot. I ment to make white chairs, but all I got was purple chord. This was a testpiece:

..joka meni ihan käteen. Tukilangat jäivät liian lyhyiksi, joten selkänojaa ei ole paljon (..köh köh) ollenkaan, ja jaloista tuli täysin epäsymmetriset. Lisäksi opin kantapään kautta ettei minusta ole korinpunojaksi ;(
Yritin paikkailla vahinkoja laittamalla puuhelmet tuolinjalkoihin ja ompelin istuintyynyn.
Tarinan opetus? -Tämän siitä saa kun yrittää toisilta kopsata, voi tulla rumaa jälkeä.
Onhan tuo siis istuimena ihan passeli, ja omalla tavallaan varmaan ihan lystikkään näköinen, muttei vastaa minun näkemystäni korituolista, eli en ole itse tyytyväinen.
Seuraavat korituolit teen kyllä omasta päästä, jotenkin tuo ohjeiden seuraaminen on aina ollut kamalan vaikeaa, ainakin lopputuloksen huomioiden. Vaikka patio ei vielä tuoleja saanutkaan, Vera-täti sai. Tuoli on kaiken lisäksi punottu Reilun Kaupan hamppunarusta, eli sopiihan tuo hipille kuin nakutettu :)

..wich so doesn't look like right. The support-strings were too short after all so there isn't much back rest there (krm..). and the legs of this chair are totally insymmetrical. Besides that, I learned the hard way that I could never become a professional basket twiner ;(
Well, I did my best to hide the bad parts here, so I placed some beads on the feets of the chair and made a little cushion on the seat.
The moral in this story? -This is what you get if you try to copy other people's works, it may not look good. Sure, as a seat that looks kinda nice, but doesn't compare with my vision about the perfect chair, so I'm not that happy about it.
If I'm ever about to do new ones, I'll figure 'em out myself. Somehow following some given instructions has always been a thorn on my side, at least when it comes to the result of it.
So, even though the patio didn't get any new chairs, auntie-Vera sure did. After all, this chair was twined of Fair Trade Hempchord, and fits to a hippie perfectly :)
